Hi, I’m Thomas, a professional pianist and music educator—and your neighbor here at Imperial Towers. I thought it would be nice to offer personalized piano lessons right here where we all live. Since we live in the same building, I can easily come to your home at no additional cost. And by the way, my schedule is very flexible, including weekends as well as weeknights and mornings on select days. If you prefer, we can also have lessons over Zoom—or do both.

Lessons Tailor-Made for You
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced pianist, and whether your interests lie in traditional piano repertoire or contemporary styles, lessons are tailored to your level and goals.
No prior experience in jazz, improvisation, or contemporary styles is required.
My Teaching Philosophy
I believe the joy of learning piano lies in the journey. Together, we will make that journey enjoyable while building the skills and confidence you need to play the music you love.
Who Are These Lessons For?
These lessons are for students ages 10 and up—from complete beginners and returning pianists to classically trained or experienced players looking for something new.
Should you be interested in more contemporary styles, which are my specialty, we can explore jazz standards, pop ballads, blues and boogie-woogie, improvisation, playing from lead sheets, accompanying yourself as a vocalist, or even composing and arranging. We can focus on whichever music and skills interest you most.

In addition to teaching music at Columbia College Chicago since 1997, I taught children at the German International School Chicago for five years, where I established a piano studio.

Rates
Lessons are customized to your goals and schedule.
$1 per minute
Examples:
– 30 minutes — $30
– 45 minutes — $45
– 60 minutes — $60
Special Introductory Offer for First-Time Students
Get six lessons for the price of five
You can choose between two different lesson-length packages:
- Six 60-minute lessons for $300 — regularly $360, a savings of $60
- Six 30-minute lessons for $150 — regularly $180, a savings of $30
Flexible Payment Options
For the 60-minute package, $150 is due before the first lesson, with the remaining $150 due before the third lesson.
For the 30-minute package, $75 is due before the first lesson, with the remaining $75 due before the third lesson.
Scheduling
Lessons can be arranged weekly, twice monthly, or on a flexible schedule depending on your goals and availability.
There is no long-term commitment. Lessons can be paused or discontinued at any time and resumed later if desired.
